Welcome to the new SVTOA NW site!
Stig has done a wonderful job of setting this up for us. If you would like some web design done, feel free to contact him at Stig@Stangnation.com
Along with the new site, we have a new meeting day and time. We are now meeting on the second Sunday of every month. I figure we can get some new faces that have been wanting to join us as well as be able to enjoy a relaxing end of the weekend chatting with friends about events as they are still fresh in our heads.
As we all know, the Rendezvous show is coming and we get to have the first show hosted at the new Griots facility. I recently got the grand tour and it is pretty amazing. This place will be state of the art in every way. I think the parking is for 200 not 2000. There were no less than 40 work trucks lined up and down the block and the place was buzzing.
Griot’s new joint is now a distribution center, retail store, R&D center. About 1/3rd of the building is Richard’s personal play area, off limits to the public and most of the staff. It’s a lot like a small version of Jay Leno’s Big Dog Garage. There are parking areas with fake grass for photo ops and no mud bogging. There is a large covered outdoor BBQ area as well.
Inside, there will be a demonstration area as before, as well as several of Richard’s cars on display. There is a large banquet room with seating for 100 with a COMPLETE kitchen for meetings, conferences, special occasions, etc. The retail store will be much larger and more open, as well as have lots more stock on hand. Business clients will be directed to a receptionist so as not to have congestion at the counter. The entire facility is climate controlled with in-floor hydronics…so awesome. Look up and there are massive skylights and the original framing timbers have been stripped and are sturdy enough to land a 747 on.
The parking lot is still a bunch of dirt mountains so I will be going back in April to get a better idea of the layout for the show.
Also, Griots now produces their own products they no longer contract out.

Very cool indeed! Had to be the first to comment. I’ve yet to see the new look of the building, but I used to frequent the old factory for a cool soda when I worked in Tacoma. Very excited, and I’ve noted the meeting day/time in hopes of making a meeting from time to time.
